Late Swarm News

Well, the late swarm managed to get it’s queen mated and they produced one then two frames of brood before the colder weather arrived and I stopped inspecting. With a good level of feeding they should have sufficient stores for winter and are now packed into a 5 frame plywood nuc with an insulated dummy board for the 5th frame. Fortunately we had a decent autumn and some of my nucs had to move up to bigger boxes πŸ™‚ If the winter is not too unkind, the stock has a fair chance of survival. πŸ™‚ I will check at the end of December when Oxalic Acid goes on.
